When Nick Walsh supposedly coaches a rangers youth team is that not a conflict of interest Bellshills finest well the photos tell all and let's not forget previously we had Bobby Madhun who went to games on an East Kilbride rangers supporters bus the whole thing is a farce

I think when VAR came in the mistake made was that the same halfwits who had caused outcry with their on field decisions are now in the VAR room still making an a*** of it we should've got retired referees from abroad to look at the contentious decisions perhaps that would have helped

I agree with the fact that the same officials that cause controversy and forced the introduction of VAR in the first place are now in charge of VAR - they should not have their grubby little mitts on it at all.

Referees in Scotland, in my opinion, must declare their allegiances and that then means they cannot officiate games involving the team they support along with their rivals. They also must be full time and not part timers like Douglas 'Red Card Red Card' Ross. Finally, there should have been a dedicated VAR team of officials put through their training both refereeing and on the technology - that were wholly independent from the old boys club within the Scottish FA.

I also believe that VAR has gone well beyond its initial premise - it should have been only for goal line technology, offsides [with proper camera angles showing incidents parallel to the incident rather than 30 metres behind it like in most Scottish grounds], and penalty incidents. It is now being used to re-referee the game. If this is the way it is heading then we should just get rid of the match officials altogether and have VAR controlled by AI.

It's not all about yellows, reds or penalty alone, IMO it's the timing of those actions and disruptions pulled up.

Refs can, say, dish out 3 cards to Celtic players early which handicaps the team for the rest of the match, as the game nears it's end the ref can then even up the yellows for opponents to attempt to prove neutrality in the stats. They can also pull up fouls, let others go as and when he likes, we've seen that plenty of games from many hun meaning officials.

If they want to officiate then their affiliations should be made public, they can then be disproved if and when suspicions arrive.

Does anyone really think the huns would NOT have got an immediate penalty if their player were hauled down like Maeda.

There are far too many "honest mistakes", if it isn't bias then it's incompetence which should see them demoted down a division or two until they can show their competency or otherwise.

John Beaton has always been Anti Celtic in my opinion. You only have to look at his dubious track record, which you have expertly highlighted Andy, that he only awards penalties and decisions towards Celtic, when he is forced to by technology and VAR.

Case in point, on Saturday, he is standing about 12 feet away from the Maeda penalty incident, and he had a clear and unrestricted view of the Motherwell player hauling Maeda to the ground, yet did not award a penalty, he had to be forced to go and look at the monitor by VAR, and he took an agonising twenty seconds to make up his mind on the penalty, when everybody in the ground could see it was a stonewall penalty. He did the same at Ibrox a few weeks ago with the Sterling penalty incident.

I never look at the stats when I scream at the ref for being a dirty stinking cheat big fatherless person - so it was interesting to do a deep dive into Beaton’s record.

Most of the Class 1 referees are in the Craft. There are few token Catholic referees just to make it look good, but they all have to tow the line, or they are out.

The head one Willie Collum is a Catholic, so maybe things are changing a bit now.

The ref Willie Young was a mason, but he was about the fairest referee amongst them, he never let any subconscious bias influence his decisions, but as for the rest of them, the McLeans, Beatons, Dickinson, forget it.
