I wasn’t convinced in the GO Radio interview. He majored on Paul McStay, his money and fans harmony but was short on substance and detail of the scheme which you would expect in a second “exclusive”. This in turn raised suspicions that you highlight so well. The timing needs scrutiny too with upcoming ST renewals and the day after a very professional and encouraging first members meeting of the Celtic Supporters Ltd. Is his aim to undermine others efforts of fan unity and holding the board to account for the benefit of A.N. Other or, heaven forbid, the status quo of an already unacceptable regime in charge at Celtic?
I will withhold my judgement on Willie Haughey's intervention at Celtic, and his share outreach to the Parkhead faithful, until we see, where the wind blows. He is putting up a £10M cash injection, so I suppose you could laud him for putting his money where his mouth is, but as you say Andy, what his underlying motives are in this seemingly, generous largesse, are still to be seen.
Beware of Greeks bearing False Gifts springs to mind.
He's only putting up £10m IF he gets 50000 season ticket holders to sign up to his new trust. And that money will supposedly be used to buy shares in Celtic, but whose shares?
