I'm unsure whether Maloney is or isn't a decent coach as it's pretty clear that MoN is tinkering from the sidelines and deciding who the starting 11 is. LASK should have been the end.

I can't help thinking that it's the worst of both worlds. MoN was never a tactical coach and left that to John Robertson. He is motivator, nothing more and the game has moved on.

Maloney speaks well and definitely understands the modern game but the squad is unbalanced in many areas and the way we are trying to play simply doesn't work against teams that overload the midfield.

Celtic are in freefall and I don't see this getting any better with the current setup, board and C-suite. Amateurish in almost every aspect with self-preservation the primary driver for all involved..

I've got a hunch that Desmond has spoken to McKenna about taking over next summer after MON moves on, unfortunately the wheels have come off the MON wagon too early hence the reason Desmond has his back.

If MON can somehow get us to the summer im positive KMcK will ride in on his white charger, but we have to move to get him signed up BEFORE MON decides to go or has been relieved if his duties.

It really doesn't matter who the manager is - if the board continue the way they are operating and if the club is hamstrung time and time again during transfer windows - the same cycle will continue. And we all know Desmond never budges until his ego takes a hit.

The problem is finding a good enough coach who is willing to deal with our board and their financial policy.

Deputy heads must roll! I can see Celtic relieving Maloney of his duties and replacing him with Scott Brown. It hardly bears thinking about.

They must think we are stupid. Thinking that throwing in a former player into the back room staff would appease fans or wash over the failures. It’s time that the club hires the best coaches etc for the role rather than starting with trying to hire an ex-Celtic player who ‘gets the club’.

Your article sums up the feelings of the majority of the Celtic support across all their forums and social media outlets, from what I have seen and read.

To keep Martin O'Neil, Sean Maloney and the Coaching Team in place is a huge mistake by the Celtic Board, and virtually surrenders the league, and likely Scottish Cup too, when instead a new management team coming in, or even interim team, would galvanise the squad and provide a platform to salvage the season, and build new foundations for the 2027 season.

The current pattern under O'Neil and Maloney is a virtual downwards trajectory with no off ramp.

Alas, our invisible CEO has been quoted saying the board will be backing him, God knows if that means in January or persuading him to stay to save them pay off money.

The club is a shambles top to bottom, but giving Tounektl and McGowan a shirt and then unforgivably bringing them on is IMO our manager's biggest failings.

MON is a footballing dinosaur, not a criticism, but his best days are long gone. He dragged us over the line last season, his last hurrah maybe, but he seems to have run out of ideas whilst Maloney is just a sounding board for him and Fozzy just to keep the mood of the players up.

It may take us losing a title to give DD a shake, but that doesnt mean he would fall on his sword. I hope there's some truth in Willie Haughey considering buying him out, whether that be as part of a consortium I dont really care, but at least our club would be in more caring hands.

God help us!!!!!

I don’t hold much positivity when I hear Willie Haughey around the club either - hes been itching for a place on the board and brown nosing Dermot. McCann had the right idea with Haughey - keep him far away from the club. He will spend more time on his radio show and speaking to the press behind closed doors rather than doing a job for Celtic imo.

The word is Desmond and Haughey do not see eye to eye, I'd rather the latter was our top man

Yip, agree with every word.
