Those crying corruption without evidence have helped create an environment where anything feels justified, including leaking a referees personal details threatening the safety of him and his family.
A fundamental issue is that the vast majority of the pundits do not know the rules, yet they are allowed to state their falsely based opinions as if they were somehow ‘facts’. For example, we frequently hear a pundit saying the tackler ‘got the ball’ so therefore the tackle is legal. Not true. The tackle from behind is to be penalised as you have to go through the player to reach the ball. Even if you get the ball first, it’s still a foul and further sanctions can be taken depending on the level of recklessness etc.
Another issue is that the officials are working with Temu VAR as the clubs and SFA will not invest in the full system. For that reason, John Beaton had only one camera angle for the Celtic penalty, and for the VAR reviewed incident in the Motherwell v Hearts match where he stayed with his onfield decision. In both cases, a view from behind the goal-line would have helped clarify what had happened.
Brian Moore - England rugby - when he became a pundit, he took it on himself to complete his refereeing qualifications, and then refereed some local matches so he could comment knowledgeably when on TV duties. I think all pundits should do the same, or failing that, we should have a retired referee on every broadcast.
It might be radical thinking, but maybe not have every single referee of any standing all being from the West Coast. Can you just imagine a referee from Aberdeen, Inverness or Dundee? How could Scottish football ever cope?
This has been one of the worst couple of days in living memory. The whole discourse is warped. The worst VAR decision ever? Really? Are they joking? McInnes earlier in the season AFTER he had gotten a big decision saying "I was surprised they sent (Trusty) off to be honest ..." as though it broke someone's heart to do it. McCoist telling all his media pals in England that the game is bent against the Ibrox club ... and dickheads like Stelling, without a bit of context, without understanding a single word that is coming out of his mouth far less the potential consequences, talking about how the fixture list was clearly a fix? A disgrace. Absolutely abysmal.
Off the back of the meltdown you can expect Robertson and Clancy not to rock the boat when it comes to Hearts now as they wont want to be seen as siding with Celtic. 50/50s will go there way along with everything else.
What's the chances of the likes of Talk Radio taking any such opinions on board.
FCKN NO CHANCE.
They love to employ the likes of Sleekit because hes a cheeky chappie but dont know him like fitba fans do north of the border, of course Sky do the same with Brainless Boyd, they rely on him to create controversaries. Instead it makes them look like desperate broadcasters who can't tell the truth from the untruths.
I certainly wouldn't be a referee, and I appreciate what they do. But it was a bloody awful decision, with huge consequences.

Eejits like McCoist, Boyd, Hartley, Linekar and Robertson are to blame for this
disgrace, pouring fuel on the sectarian fire, with their bitter and twisted comments.
God help Don Robertson tomorrow, whichever way the wind blows in the game.
