I think that the clubs are hoping that when they publish these accounts that no one properly dissect and translates their financial speak into layman's terms for the masses. The SMSM who should be deep diving on these accounts dont, and they leave the reporting of them up to football writers who struggle to understand the breakdown costs of a pint let alone a football club. It still beggars belief that after Rangers 1872 was liquidated in 2012, they still dont have their business or financial experts dissect and report on the accounts - every club hides information in the footnotes and never publishes the damning info in the summaries which is almost always the part everyone focuses on.
