The morning after the Motherwell v Celtic game, he had two ex refs (one being Bobby Madden) to state that Celtic should not have been awarded a penalty. He himself was picked out by BBC cameras in the Hearts section at Celtic Park. That would have been footage for the victory narrative. His colleague, Brian MacLachlan was also running with the assault line in the immediate aftermath.
A week later Tom English took exception to a Celtic fan coming on and stating that there had been a media overreaction. The fan stated that had Hearts been at Tynecastle and won the game in similar circumstances, many of their fans would have invaded the pitch. English declared that Hearts standards were not Celtic standards. There was an incredible level of bias throughout BBC Scotland over Celtic's title triumph
